Six-year-old Van Pelt (A666492) and 1-year-old Snoopy (in the back) are two of the 16 dogs the Humane Society of Broward County received from a recent hoarding case.
Broward County Animal Services, a separate government organization, confiscated 60 dogs from a home in Dania Beach and the dogs were sent to shelters and rescues across the state. The dogs, which might be part Australian Shepherd or part Sheltie, are very shy and will need lots of TLC and patient owners.
Fortunately, some have been adopted already, but the most timid remain. Currently they are in a closed kennel at the shelter that is very quiet to help with all their anxiety.
If you would like to see them, please complete a pre-adoption application at www.humanebroward.com and then visit the adoption department. The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale and opens daily at 11 a.m. If you have questions call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.
