There are always wonderful dogs at the Humane Society of Broward County and one gal that seems to be getting overlooked is 3-year-old Selena (ID A652075) one of the most well-behaved and well-mannered dogs currently at the shelter.

Selena is easy-going, calm and her mere presence will make you feel relaxed.  She is potty-trained, loves her toys and enjoys being pet.  Selena is heartworm positive, so her new family must be willing to bring her back as an out-patient for treatment.  The Humane Society covers the cost of this treatment.  Heartworm is not contagious to other dogs or people and is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito.  That is why it is so important to keep your dog, no matter what size it is, on heartworm preventative.  Selena is a Dolly’s Dream Dog, so her adoption fee is underwritten, and she gets to go home with supplies she needs to settle in.

The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, a block west of I95.  Be sure to complete a pre-adoption application at prior to visiting.  Appointments are not necessary, and the adoption department opens daily at 11 AM.  For questions, call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.  If you can’t adopt but want to help the animals the shelter has wish lists on Chewy and Amazon.
