Get your geek on this weekend at Paradise City Comic Con, a Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center event that celebrates anime, video games, celebrity guests, comic books and more.
The event runs from Friday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 11, and features celebrities like Ron Perlman, known for his roles in Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy. Also attending is Summer Glau, star of the hit sci-fi western Firefly and Joey Fatone from oldschool boyband NSYNC. You can get professional photographs with the celebrities or even take an autograph home with you.
Looking to attend some LGBT-friendly events while at the con? Try Sci-Fi Speed Dating with their exclusive session for those in the LGBT community. Or, you can discuss gender and sexuality in science fiction in its own panel.
For those late-night con-goers, Paradise City offers a “fun, safe and open discussion about various different kinks, fetishes and other such interests” through a Kink Panel. There will also be a panel about body positivity and LGBT acceptance within the cosplay community.
The three-day weekend pass is $75, with a Saturday and Sunday bundle available for $60. Single-day tickets for Friday are $30, Saturday are $40 and Sunday are $35. Admission is free for children ages nine and under with a paying adult.
