Our Fund Foundation and Community Foundation of Broward are joining forces to increase LGBT support and develop innovative opportunities to grow social and racial equality for LGBT and BIPOC communities.

Both organizations have long served LGBT residents through grants to local programs and philanthropies. Their new collaboration, announced this week, will focus on the critical resources needed to create the biggest impact.

The groups have three primary goals for their collaborations: First, reveal and address discrimination as a cause of disparities in health care, education, economic independence and other essentials of the quality of life for LGBT residents. Second, amplify the voice of the LGBT community and champion the rights of all LGBT residents. Finally, they want to create a lasting impact for the LGBT community that transcends life spans and breaks through community divisions.

“We can and must do more to break through systemic barriers, foster inclusion and create more opportunities for LGBTQ+ residents to succeed,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D. “Collaborating with Our Fund Foundation is a great way to streamline our grantmaking process with a shared goal of making life better for everyone who calls Broward home.”

Our Fund is also excited about the new opportunities.

“Our Fund Foundation is focused on creating a better and safer world for future generations,” said David Jobin, Our Fund Foundation president and CEO. “We are pleased to partner with the Community Foundation of Broward on our Social Justice granting to create a greater investment in a stronger, healthier and happier LGBTQ+ community.”

Grant applications are now being accepted, and the first grants will be awarded next year. To learn more visit cfbroward.org/grant-opportunities/broward-pride.
