During a time when LGBT rights are at stake, it’s important to know where in the world where the community can feel safe.

That’s why Pheabs has put together the Top 12 cities in the U.S. for the LGBT community.

Pheabs ranked each city based on how well the LGBT community is embraced and supported through events, Pride celebrations, and groups. Miami was ranked #7 on the list. San Francisco was ranked #1.

Pheabs writes how Miami is home to “some of the livelist beaches in the U.S.,” making it a popular vacation spot for over a million LGBT tourists every year.

On the website, it mentions that South Beach hosts Miami Beach Pride every April, throwing events on the beach and in restaurants and stores. Fort Lauderdale, where Pheabs is based in, is home to one of the largest LGBT communities in the U.S.

Rosie’s Bar and Grill, located in Wilton Manors and Little Havana, located in Miami, are LGBT-friendly spots as well.

The list of LGBT-friendly cities are as follows:

  • San Francisco, California
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
