Mark Ketcham, the long-time executive director of SunServe, will leave the LGBT non-profit May 15, he announced in an email Monday.
Ketcham started with social services agency May 15, 2010.
“As the SunServe board’s vision and my vision begin to diverge, it is a perfect time for me to step back and make room for new blood, fresh energy and bold new ideas,” Ketcham wrote.
Ketcham said he’d be using the next two months to work with the board to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
“It has been a profound honor and wonderful experience to help SunServe grow into the wonderful and well-respected agency that is today,” Ketcham wrote. “This could not have been done without all the unbelievably dedicated staff, volunteers and board members — hundreds of people took part.”
According to SunServe’s website the organization’s mission is “Recognizing that the entire LGBTQ community has the right to quality care, our mission is to provide critical life assistance and professional mental health services with an emphasis on economically disadvantaged, marginalized youth, adults and seniors in the greater South Florida metropolitan area.”
In his resignation announcement Ketcham a gave a shout out to SunServe’s many donors and thanked them calling them “the winds beneath our wings.”
“I have loved every minute of working at SunServe but I am looking forward to passing this particular baton on,” he said.
