The Fund’s namesake died earlier this year when she lost her battle with breast cancer. Boccard, who was 57 at the time of her death, was diagnosed with breast cancer at 29. She became a life long breast cancer advocate.According to the Sun Sentinel in 2003 her brother and sister-in-law launched the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fundwhen Boccard’s cancer returned after being in remission for 11 years. The fund helps uninsured or under-insured women throughout Broward County with the services being provided at Broward Health Coral Springs. More than $700,000 has been raised for the fund, which has helped provide more than 2,000 procedures that identified more than 100 women with breast cancer and provided follow-up treatment.

Eric Runyan, president of Front Runners, said Boccard attended their Boobie Bash last year.
