Two men robbed a Grindr user by setting up a false rendezvous.
The perpetrators created a fake profile on the app and agreed to hook-up with the victim at their home in Panama City. When the victim reached the location, 19-year-old Royquez Deloach attacked him from behind with a handgun while 21-year-old Taborice Foster grabbed the man’s wallet, police report.
“The victim arrived and was attacked from behind by (Deloach) with a black and green handgun while [Foster] was searching the victim’s pockets,” officers wrote according to the Panama City News Herald. “The victim’s wallet was ultimately taken by [Foster].”
After a police interview, both men admitted to robbing the Grindr user and the firearm was soon recovered.
Deloach has been charged with armed robbery and burglary. Foster has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a communication device.
Officers said they recognized Deloach from security camera footage of a July break-in at a food mart — he admitted to that crime as well.
