Our Fund launched a memorial fund to continue the legacy of Justin Flippen, the late mayor of Wilton Manors.

“Justin affected the lives of so many in our community that there is an outpouring of support to create a fitting tribute to his legacy,” said David Jobin, the executive director of Our Fund.

The fund will assist LGBT students in Florida who are aspiring to enter public service and pursuing a degree in political science or a related field.

“Our Fund Foundation is honored to be asked to house the Justin Flippen Memorial Fund at Our Fund to help prepare future generations of LGBTQ leaders to follow in the footsteps of Justins thoughtful and passionate public service,” Jobin said.

Flippen died of a brain aneurysm en route to the Wilton Manors City Commission meeting.

His death has sent shock waves through the community.

There will be a celebration of life for Flippen on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Venue Fort Lauderdale, 2345 Wilton Drive.
