Let’s get physical.

TheFitExpo, the “west coast’s largest and most-celebrated fitness expo,” is coming to the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct 22.

Thousands of fitness enthusiasts of all ages are expected to attend and gain access to a wealth of events such as free fitness classes and cooking demos. Participants also get a chance to meet fitness celebrities such as fitness cover model and actor James Ellis, YouTuber Kiley Miller and more!

About 200 vendors will be in attendance — a third of which from South Florida. One such vendor is The Pride Center, which will be there with an outreach table to promote their health and wellness programming, classes and more.

“TheFitExpo Fort Lauderdale provides a unique opportunity to tell our story to a diverse South Florida community,” said Robert Boo, CEO of The Pride Center Florida. “The Center remains committed to holistic health for our community ... We look forward to reaching a large, diverse audience who can learn about how we impact and enhance lives. We look forward to linking people to needed services, groups and programs.”

Boo and The Pride Center are also using the event to encourage Floridians to become a part of the Center’s Rainbow 5K event coming this January.

“TheFitExpo Fort Lauderdale provides an opportunity to connect with athletes, fitness enthusiasts, sponsors and various athletic brands,” he said. “The Rainbow 5K encourages health and wellness among our community and raises vital funds to support and empower our programs and services. We can’t wait to spread the word about the Rainbow 5K during the Expo.”

TheFitExpo has had its annual event in Los Angeles for the last 14 years. The Fort Lauderdale event was supposed to take place last year, but was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.

“Hopefully Mother Nature will be on our side this year!” Executive Director of TheFitExpo and National Fitness Productions Erin Ferries said in a press release. “TheFitExpo team is eager to bring our unique experience to South Florida. We welcome fans of all ages, interests and ability levels. This year’s expo will expand our health, wellness and fitness activities, bringing South Florida a never-before-seen expo.”

Tickets for the expo are $25 for one day or $40 for a weekend pass. Children 12 and under are $10 per day and children under 6 years old are free. For more information, visit TheFitExpo.com or call 818-545-0290.
