Anthony Carlton Fonseca made it his business to seek out child models and serve as a talent scout.

But the 45-year-old Jupiter man also, he admitted Wednesday, crossed the line into the illegal world of child pornography — using the Internet and Facebook.

Fonseca stood before Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Jack Cox and pleaded guilty to 15 child porn charges in a deal with the State Attorney's Office that came with no guarantees of a possible punishment.

Cox told prosecutor Gregory Schiller and defense attorney Jack Fuchs he will let them know on March 4 a date and time for Fonseca's sentencing hearing.

Fonseca can remain free until that happens; he has previously posted bail amounts of $93,000 and $57,500 to get out of Palm Beach County Jail.

The charges, punishable by up to 115 years in state prison, include: 10 counts of possessing child porn; four counts of promoting sexual performance by a child; and one count of online solicitation of a minor.

In exchange for the plea, Schiller dropped 20 counts of possession of child porn, and three extortion counts that were tied to an allegation that Fonseca had used Facebook to threaten boys who sent him photos and videos of themselves.

Before his separate arrests in May 2013 and July 2013, Fonseca was a self-employed children's talent finder and modeling manager operating under the name Anthony Carlton Management, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The firm, directed at teens and pre-teens, apparently had clients in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Investigators began looking at Fonseca in late 2012, after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from Facebook security officials. A report indicated that a user named Amanda Peterson, age listed as 16, had received a picture of a nude child.

Agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement traced the user's IP address to Fonseca, who had been living in the 5700 block of Coach House Circle in Boca Raton. Then it was discovered that Fonseca had moved to an apartment in the 1600 block of U.S. Highway 1 in Jupiter.

A search of the home in May 2013 yielded 19 digital pictures on a laptop and 12 printed copies of photographs showing the sexual exploitation of young boys, an arrest report stated.

Agents said they also found Fonseca had created Skype and email accounts associated with the name Amanda Peterson. He had "Web chats with young boys" to get the images, records show.

Authorities also discovered videos of four boys, many of which were saved in a computer folder labeled "Amateur Boys Series," according to arrest records. Fonseca allegedly directed the boys in the videos, telling them which sex acts to perform and how to pose.

Fonseca's criminal history includes a 2008 guilty plea concerning a misdemeanor voyeurism charge. He stood on a toilet and spied on a teenage boy in the bathroom of a Delray Beach movie theater, according to Sun Sentinel news archives.
