A Canadian man who traveled to South Florida in November to have sex with a 14-year-old boy who turned out to be an undercover detective is scheduled to plead guilty to federal sex tourism charges on Monday.

Rene Roberge, 47, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, arranged to have sex with a Broward County teenager and had plans to travel from South Florida to San Antonio, Texas, to hook up with another teenage boy, according to prosecutors.

Roberge is scheduled to plead guilty to all charges against him — including traveling to the U.S. to engage in illicit sexual conduct, transporting child pornography and attempting to coerce a minor into sexual activity.

The guilty plea comes with no guarantee of a minimum sentence. Roberge faces a maximum of life in prison.
