Best Guesthouse / Best Spa: Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa
2209 NE 26th Street, Fort Lauderdale
A welcoming atmosphere and relaxing ambiance are what keep out-of-town visitors and local staycationers flocking to Cabanas Guesthouse. The rooms are always clean, and guests rave about the value.
"There are constant updates and additions to the property to keep it fresh and current,” the Cabanas said in 2021. “ Over the years, we've added a bar, the spa, and everything from rooms to landscaping is constantly being updated."
Those updates are another reason Cabanas Guesthouse has won this category for years.
"We feel very honored that the community shows us so much support year after year,” Dorry said. "Over the last 22 years, we've learned that true success comes from good customer service, and we've made that our mission. We also take pride in our waterfront views and lush tropical gardens. We get tons of guest reviews, and the feedback is always so positive about our property and staff."

Meanwhile their on-site spa also won Best Spa.
It’s the ultimate place to relax and rejuvenate. The spa’s specialists pamper guests with specialized services, including its new introduction of CBD-infused massages.
“It truly is a game-changer in terms of its benefits when added to a massage,” the spa’s owner told SFGN in 2021. “Aside from reducing tension from your body, it also relieves chronic pain, alleviates anxiety and stress, improves skin conditions, boosts your mood, and stimulates your senses.”
The owner attributes a lot of the spa’s popularity to his incredible team.
“They're well versed in all modalities of massage and come from a holistic approach that recognizes the connection between mind, body, and spirit,” he said.
Cabanas Spa is on an eight-year winning streak in this category.

Best Hair Salon: Dick’s Service Station
3528 NE 12th Ave., Oakland Park
The winner of the Best Hair Salon goes to Dick’s Service Station, which has won six times.
What makes the salon different from other barbershops is that they’re LGBT-friendly, which they are proud of.
“We couldn’t do it without the guys that work here,” said co-owner Christian Santiago in 2021. “What stands out is the quality of our services and the expertise of our guys. We have an amazing shop. It’s a unique shop, modeled after a 1950s gas station.”
Santiago and his husband Eric McKnight started the business in 2016.
In 2021, Dick’s paid tribute to Bob Neu, one of their stylists who died in August.
“He was the kind of guy who was always there, so much so that we all expected him to always be there. Making each memory we shared with him feel that much more valuable,” Dick’s posted on Facebook.
