The Alibi, in collaboration with SFGN, will host a hot dog giveaway on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the dogs run out.
“Come get a meal,” Johnny Pak, owner of Alibi said.
Pak has been cooking meals once a week for his staff for the last three weeks.
“So many people have been struggling because not everyone has been getting unemployment,” Pak said.
This is the first week they’re opening it up to the public.
While much of Florida has entered Phase 1 of reopening, Pak said he probably won’t open the Alibi until Phase 3 when bars are allowed to reopen.
“We’re more of a bar/slash restaurant,” he said. “We still do more in alcohol.”
He made the decision to keep the restaurant closed during the pandemic and not serve takeout or delivery to keep his staff safe from the virus.
