The Greater Fort Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (GFLGLCC) announces the start of a monthly series of smaller networking luncheons held on the fourthTuesday of every month. These ‘intimate’ luncheons will take place at Dapur Asian Tapas and Ultra Lounge, 1620 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. ‘

These smaller, luncheons are in addition to the Quarterly Networking Luncheons and Executive Luncheons and will be limited to 25 attendees. Thus, allowing for a one-on-one networking experience. The luncheons will be open to GFLGLCC members and future members. $35.00 GFLGLCC members — $40 future members. The price includes a non-alcoholic beverage, tax and gratuity.

For the first luncheon on April 22nd, we will “learn” from Anthony Timiaros of Our Fund. The topic will be “Defining your Legacy.” He will speak for approximately 15 minutes, leaving plenty of time for networking. The GFLGLCC is always looking for new speakers, so please let us know if you’d like to be included at a future luncheon.

According to the dictionary, Networking – (n) – is a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and groups having a common interest. The GFLGLCC’s more “intimate” networking luncheons are more than just an opportunity to distribute business cards but, rather an opportunity to connect on a more personal level to create a relationship with other business owners for the purpose of enhancing each other’s respective businesses. Leading to the best use of valuable time.

How do you make a lasting impression when networking? Some advise from Jason Loeb, owner of Sudsies Dry Cleaning, and an expert on networking, Get to know each other. Then it becomes a pleasure to work together.” Ask, ‘How can I help you grow your business?’ Because the more you are able to provide value to another person the more valuable the business relationship becomes.
