Her name is Valkyrie, and she doesn’t care how men judge her.

“Thor: Ragnarok” will have an LGBT character in its midst. Enter renegade hero Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson who has confirmed her bisexual identity.

Comic book fans pointed out the character’s bisexuality in the comics, and questioned if Valkyrie would have the same sexuality in the films. In response, Thompson had this to say:

“She’s bi. And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. What a joy to play!”

Unfortunately, that fact won’t be explicit in the film. Can anybody say “bisexual invisibility?”

“YES! Val is Bi in the comics & I was faithful to that in her depiction,” she wrote in another Tweet. “But her sexuality isn’t explicitly addressed in Thor: Ragnarok.”

In the comics, Valkyrie was in an all-female comic book titled “Fearless Defenders.” She was explicitly bi in the series, sharing a kiss with a Dr. Annabelle Riggs.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will be in theatres Nov. 3.
