A casting call for the Mulan live-action remake has caused some concern over the removal of one particular character.

The remake of the 1998 animated film announced that Li Shang, who fans have claimed is bisexual, was not included at all in the movie, according to NME. Fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration with the decision by Disney.

“When u wanna support the upcoming mulan remake bc disney cast a gorgeous, talented actress who's actually chinese to play mulan but they're also replacing bisexual icon li shang with a random misogynistic dude who'll overshadow mulan's journey & add 0 good elements to the story,” Twitter user harleivy tweeted .

The movie is set to be released in 2019, according to NME.
