UPDATED 05/13: It’s hard to believe that we’ve been on mandatory lockdown for more than a month. The hospitality industry has been the hardest hit during these trying times, after all there’s no option of working from home for them.
You can support your favorite dining establishments during this time by ordering take-out or delivery. With all the delivery services available you may order almost anything you’d like from any eatery. Personally, I choose to support locally owned businesses. I figure the big chains can fend for themselves (although I do have a weakness for Popeye’s).
A few weeks ago, we ran an article letting you know how your favorite neighborhood businesses were getting through the crisis. Well, a few of them have decided not to offer pick-up or delivery anymore and to shut down for the duration. Here’s an updated list of what’s available in our area.
Unless otherwise indicated, delivery is available from third-party companies such as Grubhub, Delivery Dudes, Postmates, Uber Eats and the like. We tried to contact every restaurant in the neighborhood, but many did not answer phone calls or e-mails in time for our deadline.
Restaurants in the Galleria Mall offering take-out dining include Capital Grille, Seasons 52 and P.F. Chang’s.
For those who are struggling financially, Poverello continues to offer food bank services through online ordering and delivery or pickup at the Food Bank. For more information go to poverello.org or call 954-561-3663.
