Luis Vielma, was 22 years old when his life was taken from him at the mass shooting in Orlando. Now, he’s being honored by a custom vinyl POP! figurine as a wizard of the Harry Potter universe.
Vielma was an employee at Universal Studios’ The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. On the figure, he is depicted as a Gryffindor-house wizard.
Brandon Anderson, creator of the custom POP! figure, didn’t know Vielma personally. He told The Huffington Post that his idea came from a suggestion on Facebook.
Anderson ordered a blank figure from the POP! website with the intention of giving it to Vielma’s friends and family. It will not be sold.
“Our thoughts are with Luis, his family, and everyone touched by the tragedy in Orlando,” POP! told The Huffington Post.
J.K. Rowling, the author behind Harry Potter, tweeted about Vielma after his death on June 13.
“Luis Vielma worked on the Harry Potter ride at Universal,” she tweeted. “He was 22 years old. I can’t stop crying. #Orlando”
