Expo In Lake Worth to Highlight LGBT Friendly Businesses

3rd annual event takes place this Saturday

The third annual Palm Beach County LGBT Business Expo will be held at The Compass Center in Lake Worth from noon to 3 p.m. on Oct. 17.

The expo will have over 30 different vendors whom all hope to gain exposure to the LGBT community and exchange information with other supportive businesses.

"We're looking to support businesses any way we can to help them market themselves and grow and connect with other businesses and help the community find out about them," said Adrienne Percival, a Compass Center Business Development staff member.

Percival said that with the legalization of marriage equality along with October being LGBT History Month, now, more than ever, is the time businesses are trying to connect and celebrate with Palm Beach County's LGBT community.

"There are a lot of people looking to share their market and expand into the LGBT community," she said. "It's always important to be able to highlight the companies that work and support this community.”

Percival said that businesses are interested in building strong loyal relationships with LGBT consumers. She is certain the expo will help them do just that.

The expo is expected to draw between 100 to 150 people – a similar turnout to the last two years' events.

In addition to meeting various businesses and people, attendees will have the chance to enter free raffles and participate in informational sessions.

"The sessions will be on various topics that businesses find vital like social media, marketing and more," Percival said.

All vendors belong to Compass' Pride Business Alliance. PBA helps business owners connect to more businesses in the community and provides extensive networking opportunities.

"This is a great opportunity for people who are business professionals or small business owners or people who are looking for start a business," Percival said.

There is no charge to enter the expo.

Anyone interested in attending need only to "bring their cute selves," joked Percival.

Tickets can be attained by registering online at EventBrite.com.

"It's going to be a wonderful buffet of opportunities to participate in and to do something with the LGBT community in Palm Beach county," Percival said.
