Calling all cat lovers, Honey (ID 581125) is waiting to meet you.  Sadly after having a home for 10 years Honey’s owner became ill and can no longer care for this sweet fellow.  At 20 pounds there is a lot to love and pet.  Honey is just one of several mature felines looking for a home this week.  When you adopt an older kitty, they tend to be calmer, will let you sleep through the night and might even snuggle on the couch with you.

Big dogs need loving too and two year old, 82 pound Bart (ID A581148) hopes you have room in your heart and home for him.  This handsome Labrador retriever mix would love to go for walks, play with toys and cuddle with you.  If you have a swimming pool he might want to take a dip too.  Bart is heartworm positive, so his new family will have to bring him back for treatment at the shelter as an out-patient.  The shelter covers the cost of this treatment.

When you adopt from the Humane Society of Broward County the dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive preliminary vaccinations, cats are feline leukemia tested, and dogs over 7 months are tested for heartworm.  They also receive a flea/tick preventative, a 10-day limited health care plan from VCA Animal Hospitals, 30 days of Trupanion Pet Insurance and a bag of Purina ONE pet food.  The HSBC opens daily at 10:30 and is located at 2070 Griffin Road, a block west of I-95.  For more details call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.  To see who else is looking for a home visit www.humanebroward.com
