Pets: Miss Mary

Miss Mary Via Humane Society

Our featured pets this week both survived hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. They have completed a quarantine period, and now are looking for loving families who will give them a forever home…could it be you?

Miss Mary (ID 620469) is a 3-year-old, 29-pound fawn colored gal who will do best in a home where she is the only dog. This is because she likes to guard her food and treats. The shelter dog trainers say Mary is a real love bug once she gets to know you and enjoys cuddling. This little Bahamian gal likes to go for walks and is sure to win you over if you come and spend some time with her. Can she be part of your family?

If you prefer a feline friend, well King (ID 620448) would love to be part of your royal family. He is a 2 year old white and tiger striped feline who is described as being calm and quiet. He loves being pet under his chin and will head butt you and paw at you for more attention. He too is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. While we don’t think King ever had toys to play with, we do know he LOVES treats.

To meet Mary, King and all the other fabulous pets at the Humane Society of Broward County, stop on by. The adoption center is located at 2070 Griffin Road, a block west of I95 and opens daily at 10:30. When you adopt, the adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, preliminary vaccinations, heartworm test for dogs over 7 months, 14 days of limited health care from VCA Animal Hospitals, 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance and a bag of Purina ONE pet food.
