Former Jenny Craig spokesperson and actress Kirstie Alley told Barbara Walters in an interview that she thinks “with her heart and soul” that John Travolta is not gay.

“I think it’s some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they’re not out doing drugs and they’re not womanizing, what do you say about them?” she said, as quoted by Huffington Post.

The 61-year-old actress also revealed that John Travolta the "greatest love" of her life but that they were never together because she was married in 1989, when the two starred in “Look Who's Talking.”

After Elton writer Louis Virtel thinks Alley’s comments defending Travolta’s sexuality are offensive to the LGBT community.

“I hate when people make the act of suspecting an actor's gayness seem shallow, petty, or always mean. It's like she's suggesting that gayness is invisible, and those who suspect he's gay are just inflicting a bad word on him,” she writes.

“No. Gayness is real, it's often perceptible, and we have been given plenty of reason to believe, in particular, that this person is gay. That's why many of us think he's gay.”

Earlier this year, Travolta was sued by two masseurs who claimed the actor had inappropriately touched them, according to The Daily Beast.
