Jesse Tyler Ferguson, star of ABC’s hit comedy “Modern Family,” has married his partner of two years in New York City.
The ceremony took place on July 20. The Emmy-nominated actor married 27-year-old lawyer Justin Mikita, with whom he had been engaged since last year.
According to People Magazine, celebrities including Rebecca Romijn, Zachary Quinto, Isaac Mizrahi, Arnold Germer, Nigel Barker, Cat Deeley, Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio, and Padma Lakshmi, among others, attended the wedding. Ferguson’s co-stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet were also present.
The couple, who live in California, decided to get married in New York City because “that’s where it was legal, he said on “The View” following the Supreme Court ruling on California’s Proposition 8 in late June.
“Weddings are expensive, y'all, and we wanted to give that money to a state that accepted us as an equal,” the 37-year-old said. “We're too far down the planning path to change.”
Ferguson and Mikita asked their guests to donate to the gay marriage organization Tie The Knot as a wedding gift.
