Actor Maulik Pancholy, best known for his role on the NBC comedy "30 Rock," has officially come out to the public and revealed he is gay via a new interview with Out magazine.
Pancholy, who was placed on the magazine’s annual "Out 100" list, told the publication about celebrating his anniversary with his partner.
"I just celebrated my nine-year anniversary with my partner," he told the publication. "It feels like a nice time to be celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions."
Gay rumors have circulated around Pancholy, 39, for a while. Last year Out magazine identified him as an "out actor" after he played gay characters on shows like "Weeds" and "Whitney," the Huffington Post reports.
Pancholy, who played Jonathan on "30 Rock," is also a voice actor for one of the main characters on the animated Nickelodeon program "Sanjay and Craig."
The actor isn’t the first openly gay cast member of "30 Rock," however. As HuffPo points out Cheyenne Jackson and Tituss Burgess are both openly gay actors.
