Nestled in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, artist Rubem Robierb has brought his creative flair to Shade Post. How, you ask? Through his butterfly themed mural titled "Metamorph-Us."

Robierb got involved with the project when he collaborated with acquaintance Kayce Armstrong (owner of Shade Post) to depict a positive transformation in that neighborhood. They have also collaborated on her past fashion line, Art of Shade.

So why paint butterflies? To this, he replied, there was "nothing better than the butterflies to represent that transformation."

Although he has not been formally trained in art and is instead self-taught, Robierb has been professionally painting for about 10 years. His debut was in France during 2005. Robeirb describes his style as "poems without words" and names Andy Warhol and Banksy as his inspiration. "Pop and street art are my thing," he added.

In regards to why he thought Fort Lauderdale was an appropriate location for his art, Robeirb replied, "It's a matter of time, Fort Lauderdale just like Miami did, will become an art city. It is just not totally developed yet."

Robierb has been married to Sam Champion, weather man formerly for Good Morning America and now the Weather Channel, for 2 and 1/2 years.

When asked what it was like being married to someone who is famous, he replied, "It's exactly the same than being married with someone really popular in the neighborhood, but in a much bigger scale."

And that's what you call a humble artist, ladies and gentlemen.
