Looking for something fun to do in South Florida?

Thursday, 6/30 - Fundraiser

She’s back! Yes, Dixie Longate, America’s favorite Tupperware “lady,” is back in South Florida to help raise money for The Smart Ride. She’ll be selling her amazing food storage solutions at Hunter’s in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors tonight at 7 p.m. and a portion of the proceeds benefits the annual bicycle ride to Key West to help persons living with HIV/AIDS. Tickets are $35 and $100 at TheSmartRide.org.

Friday, 7/1 - Comics

Florida Supercon, July 1 – 4 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, is the largest comics, anime and fantasy convention in South Florida. Meet William Shatner (“Star Trek”), Bruce Boxleitner (“Babylon 5”), Nancy Cartwright (“The Simpsons”) and Bob McGrath (“Sesame Street”). Also, check out the cosplay competition and browse hundreds of vendors. Single day tickets start at $30 at FloridaSupercon.com.

Saturday, 7/2 - Cabaret

Showmanship is a talent singer Ariana Savalas inherited from her late father, actor Telly Savalas (“Kojak”). Savalas returns to the Royal Room at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach this weekend and will be performing her popular show of both traditional and new standards throughout the month. Enjoy a prix fixe dinner for $120 or just the show for $60 per person. Reservations at TheColonyPalmBeach.com.

Sunday, 7/3 - Concert

Are you a “Belieber”? Yes, Justin Bieber is back in South Florida and will be performing live at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Saturday and Sunday nights. We admit he’s grown into a fine, strapping young man—just ask his proud pop—and we also like his music, too. The downside is tickets are pretty scarce and you’ll have to put up with lots of screaming tweens. Tickets at Ticketmaster.com.

Monday, 7/4 - Holiday

Fire up the grill because it’s Independence Day. After enjoying hamburgers and hot dogs, enjoy fireworks displays at America’s Birthday Bash at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. In Fort Lauderdale, Zimmerman Advertising presents the 4th of July Spectacular, including live bands, kids zone, beach games and an old fashioned hot dog eating contest on the beach at the intersection of A1A and Las Olas Blvd.

Tuesday, 7/5 - Film

Here’s an offer you can’t refuse: Cinema Paradiso, 503 SE 6th St. in Fort Lauderdale, is throwing a “Godfather” mini-film festival tonight through Thursday. Each night, enjoy one of the classic films paired with Italian dishes by Café Vico, Café Martorano and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. This is the first of several upcoming “Cinema and Cuisine” events. Tickets are $25 for individual films or $65 for all three at FLIFF.com.
