“Summer Shorts,” America’s short play festival presented by City Theatre, opens tonight at the Arsht Center in Miami. This season’s Summer Shorts celebrates the laughter, diversity and joy of Miami in 90 action-packed minutes. This year’s all-new lineup of short plays even includes 10-minute musicals, all performed by a wacky cast of South Florida’s most talented actors. Tickets are $39 at ArshtCenter.org.
Friday, 6/3 - Concert
The South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble, South Florida’s LGBT and allies concert band, presents it’s spring concert, “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” tonight at 8 p.m. at the Broward Center. Artistic director Dan Bassett conducts the 50 musicians in a program of music from exotic destinations, along with the ensemble’s trademark multimedia and guest performances. Saturday, 6/4 - Concert
Fasten your seatbelts because Weird Al Yankovic is coming to South Florida and he’s performing hilarious new parodies from his “Mandatory Fun” album, including “Tacky” (“Happy”), “Word Crimes” (“Blurred Lines”), “Foil” (“Royals”) and more.
