Many Pride Events have been canceled due to the coronavirus, so here are some ways on how to celebrate Pride Month from the safety of your home.

Hang Up a Pride Flag

There are many different LGBT flags ranging from transgender, bisexual, asexual, etc. Posting a picture of a flag on social media would be a great way to show your support during Pride Month. Here is a detailed list of each flag and their meaning.

Watch Weekly Happy Hour Concerts

Every Friday at 5 p.m., South Florida Pride Collective will host live concerts featuring performers such as Cascada, Nicole Henry, and Steve Grand. You can watch them on either their website or Facebook page.

Watch the Live Stream of Global Pride 2020

On June 27, Global Pride 2020 will perform a 24-hour live stream of musical and artistic performances, speeches from activists and campaigners, and addresses by public figures to “reflect and celebrate the beautiful diversity of LGBTI+ people everywhere.” They say they will announce the platform on which Global Pride will be streamed in early June.

Read Queer Books

Another way to celebrate Pride Month is by reading queer books. Goodreads has a list of queer books, from “Best Lesbian Fiction” to “Best Fantasy Books with Gay Main Characters.” If you’re more of a bookworm, then browse the categories to see which books interest you the most.

Watch Queer Movies

Whether you’re on Netflix or Hulu, there are many movies to binge-watch whenever you don’t have any plans. To start off, here’s a list of gay movies you can stream right now, such as “The Favourite” and “Bessie.”
