The Anita Priest Whispering Angels Memorial Scholarship Foundation is set to host its third fundraising gala to benefit gay students pursuing studies in the arts.

The gala takes place on Saturday, March 9, at 6:30 p.m. at The Broadway Collection.

Whispering Angels is the brain child of London native Sandra Holiday. It was established in memoriam and memory of Anita Priest, an interior designer with a love for the arts. The memorial fund has already given out two scholarships to in the last two years. This year’s event has the same goal.

“Of course it’s exciting,” Holiday told SFGN. “Money is hard, especially for students.”

Holiday has a dream that she will one day be able to help more members of the LGBT community continue to advance their dreams in the design and arts fields.

The night’s festivities will be highlighted by Master of Ceremonies Michael Walters, who will also be performing alongside Debra Hampton, Humberto Fortuna and Sandy Warren. A special honoree that night will be Tony Award winner Gary Beach.

Holiday called the event a celebration like no other. There will a champagne reception, food, a free vodka bar sponsored by Chambord and of course the stars. There will also be an exclusive tour of Costume World’s Broadway Collection.

“The ‘Broadway to Hollywood’ concert performance will feature some of the best talent that South Florida has to offer,” Holiday boasted. “It’s a truly one-of-a-kind night for a very worthy cause.”
