Ily Goyanes, a Miami-based author and frequent contributor to Miami New Times, has been named one of 12 finalists to received the Lambda Literary Award in the “Lesbian Erotica” category.
Her book “Girls Who Score,” a compilation of erotic stories featuring lesbian athletes, was selected among 687 submissions. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony, which takes places on June 3 in New York City.
“I am honored, humbled really, to have my first full-length anthology named as a finalist -- especially considering the other eleven contenders it was up against. To think that ‘Girls Who Score’ had such an impact on the judges that it made the top three from a list that included Best Lesbian Erotica is mind-blowing,” Goyanes said in a statement.
“This is an honor for me and I cannot believe how blessed I am to have my debut anthology named as a Lammy finalist.”
Goyanes’ erotic fiction has appeared in other collections, like “Best Lesbian Erotica 2012,” “Lesbian Cops,” and “Spankalicious: Erotic Adventures in Spanking.”
