Wilton Manors to Host Celebration Following DOMA Defeat

The City of Wilton Manors will host an Equality Celebration on July 3, 2013 at 6 p.m.at City Hall, located at 2020 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors.
The event will highlight the significance of the Supreme Court’s historic ruling to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act and recognize the equality of same-sex marriages.
Hundreds are expected to join in the joyous celebration, which will feature food, entertainment, and statements by local officials, including Mayor Gary Resnick and members of the City Commission, various City Boards and Committees and City employees.
“As Wilton Manors has one of the largest gay and lesbian populations per capita in the nation, this decision will have significant consequences for thousands of our residents in Wilton Manors and our region and millions of people around the country – now and in the future,” said Gary Resnick, mayor of Wilton Manors.
