Plays with a Bite at The Wine Cellar
This November Thinking Cap Productions will whet your appetite for a new kind of dinner theatre. Plays with a Bite is a series featuring vanguard drama and European cuisine at The Wine Cellar in Fort Lauderdale. The first production in this series will be S/HE written by Nick Mwaluko and directed by Nicole Stodard.
S/HE is about a young man’s journey in a woman’s body that compels us to reconsider our answers to some of life’s most basic questions. Are you a man, a woman, both? How do you know?
This production of S/HE marks Mwaluko’s Florida premiere. A Tanzanian-born playwright who has lived in Kenya and other east and central African countries, Mwaluko now resides in New York City. He earned a BA and a MFA in Writing from Columbia University and attended Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He counts among his literary inspirations Edward Albee, Chimua Achebe, Tony Kushner, and Alice Walker. Other plays by Mwaluko include Waafrika, Asymmetrical We, Trailor Park Tundra, and Mwena (Swahili for ‘beloved’).
S/HE will run for a limited engagement of six (6) performances:
