South Florida Gay News sadly reports that Jan Carpenter of Atlantic Properties has passed away. Jan was the long time life and work partner of Dale Russell. He was a community leader and a professional in his field.

“The Pride Center is deeply saddened to learn that we have lost one of our long time community leaders. Jan Carpenter who suddenly passed away of a heart attack last night. Jan was the beloved partner to Dale Russell, former Board President. Jan also served as the Project Manager for the Center in 2009 during our transition from the Andrews Avenue location to the Dixie Highway campus. Jan was very skilled in project management and our community benefitted greatly from his expertise and generosity. Jan was involved in several organizations in the area and will be missed. Our thoughts go out to Dale during his time of loss.” -The Pride Center.
