Opinion: ‘I Urge my Gay Brothers and Sisters to Vote for Mitt Romney’
As a lifelong Democratic career school teacher I urge my Gay Brothers and Sisters to vote for Mitt Romney for President, Connie Mack for U.S. Senate, and Karen Harrington, Allen West and Ileana Ros-lehtin for the U.S. House if they are in your districts.
Our Obama economy is in shambles and it is time to stop the contrived blaming of George W. Bush for the current President’s failures.
Ronald Reagan and Reagan Democrat Bill Clinton inherited terrible economies that were dominated by hyper-inflation, joblessness and severely declining home values. But they produced 20 and 24 million jobs, respectively.
The “Hope and Change, Food Stamp Economy” has produced a paltry 5 million with a record number of Americans not even bothering to look for a job. Can you hear our major creditor, China, chuckling ???
Bill Clinton, a super-hero to many Gays, once tried to switch parties and become Reagan’s running mate in 1984. While President, Clinton dramatically cut investment taxes, including the biggest capital gains tax cut in U.S. history.
As Mr. Bill said, “There were more millionaires created under my Administration than ever before. And that’s a good thing.”
Sadly, our hero Obama is neither Reagan nor Clinton.
Today over 23 million Americans are unemployed and more are underemployed. At least 10 percent of those humiliated Americans are Gay people.
The Gay American economy is devastated by shrinking home values, a bleak job market and all of our Gay small business owners are struggling to survive
We can not continue to buy into the fatal conceit of class warfare and blaming every sniffle in life on the rich or homophobes behind every bush.
The top 20% of income earners pay 80% of retail, income, capital gains and property taxes that are collected by our favorite hyper-drama class-warfare politicians. The rich pay for revenues financing our expanding universities, public schools, road, hospitals, Medicare and Medicaid for our AIDS friends, and our Social Security and charity groups…including AIDS-related programs.
The bottom 80% of taxpayers, which includes nearly all of the Hate Queens from the Dolphin Democrats, pay only 20% of collected revenues — We need to think long and hard about this reality.
Tragically, most Gays succumb to the Obama rhetoric that all we have to do is raise taxes on the rich to achieve egalitarian Nirvana.
Excuse me for mentioning this inconvenient truth, but most of the world has a corporate tax rate at 20 to 14% unlike the U.S. tax rate at 35%. And we wonder why U.S. capital is moving abroad and leaving millions of otherwise ambitious and hard-working honorable Gay people unemployed?
OK….Mr. Obama signed on to Gay Marriage. What does Gay Marriage mean if a couple cannot pay the rent or we are losing our homes?
Is the modern GOP really as homophobic as our young GLBT editors insist?
I don’t think so. The Broward Republican Executive Committee gave two of their prestigious and exclusive “2012 Volunteer of the Year” awards to two well-known Gay fellows. Is that homophobia???
Not in my estimation.
The lead attorney who represented the Log Cabin Republicans in their successful landmark lawsuit to reverse the California constitutional amendment to outlaw same-sex marriage is Ted Olsen, a movement conservative and George W. Bush’s former Solicitor General. Yes, he’s the same lawyer who won the Bush v. Gore case in the U.S. Supreme Court that gave the 2000 election to George Bush after the Florida “hanging chad” debacle.
In the last two national elections — 2008 and 2010 — 35% of self-identified Gays voted Republican, according to well known New York Times exit polls, and confirmed by both liberal and Gay watch groups. That proportion needs to expand.
It is time that all Gays stop thoughtlessly believing in Homosexual Marxism — and vote for prosperity in our communities.
Mitt Romney has an intelligent plan to grow our economy and produce 12 million new jobs, and dramatically liberate our oil, gas and coal fields to produce two million new jobs. This would certainly help all Gay professionals wanting to be prosperous and gainfully employed.
He would stop the reckless foreign borrowing that Mr. Obama relies on — fruitlessly — and that results in $85 million being borrow every hour to create the delusion of “Hope and Change.”
And Mr. Romney would save our Medicare and Social Security programs for our aging Gay population.
Let’s get serious instead of campy. Gay people are profoundly gifted people who contribute enormously and heroically to Fortune 500 firms, Gay-owned small businesses historically excel in gentrifying many dilapidated neighborhoods in the U.S. They are true heroes who deserve better than Mr. Obama’s sophomoric rhetoric.
Let’s vote as Americans determined to be successful…not as people mired in contrived “victim-hood.”
All Gay Americans of whatever circumstances certainly deserve better….
