New Art Gallery Opens on Wilton Drive
Things on Wilton Drive are about to get a little more chic with the newest addition to the Arts and Entertainment District, Rossetti Fine Art.
The gallery, located at 2176 on Wilton Drive, opens on Saturday, May 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a ribbon cutting scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Owner Thom Rossetti said his gallery will cater to all levels of art without the “attitude” of other fine art establishments.
“I looked all over Fort Lauderdale for a new gallery location and I had my heart set on Wilton Manors and Wilton Drive,” Rossetti said. “
After working on Las Olas as a Gallery Director for 10 years, then owning my own gallery in Pompano Beach, I was looking for something different. I wanted to bring a little more culture to the Drive.”
Culture is something that is being welcomed by the city. Krishan Manors, CEO and president of the Wilton Manors Development Alliance, is looking forward to highlighting the arts that have been outweighed by the entertainment factor of Wilton Drive.
“We are thrilled to have Rossetti Fine Art on the Drive,” Manners said. “Our A&E district has been weighted toward the entertainment side and we’re working to bring more art to Wilton Manors. Thom’s gallery represents some of the finest local artists, as well as artists of national – and international acclaim.”
Some of the art featured will include pieces by John Pack who was just accepted into the National Sculpture Society’s 80th Anniversary Exhibition and one of only 46 artists nationally that were accepted, Teresa Frazee, who was accepted into the All Florida Exhibition at Boca Raton Museum for the last three years and Joan Sonnenberg whom this year will have her Retrospective at The Von Leibic Museum in Naples, FL.
Rossetti hopes to show that art has a place on Wilton Drive just as it dioes in his heart.
“Art is more than my passion,” Rossetti said. “It is my life.”
