A gay man was murdered and cut into pieces over a money dispute on Christmas Day in Vietnam’s Dong Nai province, the Gay Star News reports.

Two men were arrested on Dec. 26 suspected of killing 26-year-old Bui Van Liem using knives and dumping his body parts into a canal.

The three men worked together at an animal feed processing plant. There has yet to be a trial, and it is unclear whether the crime had anything to do with Van Liem’s sexuality.

GSN clarifies the original newspaper that reported the story, Vietnam’s Tu?i Tr?, has ties with H? Chí Minh Communist Youth Union and did not reveal its sources for the story.
