One year and 45 adoptions later, the Good Luck Cat Cafe has plenty of reason to celebrate.

Hidden inside Boomerangs Thrift Shop, the cafe is a non-profit adoption center where rescued cats and kittens go to find their forever home. They’re celebrating their one year anniversary July 8 starting at noon at 2365 Wilton Drive with raffles, refreshments and cats.

“We are so pleased to have been able to help facilitate in the adoption of so many animals in the past year,” said Matt LaMariana, manager at Boomerangs and president of the Animal Rescue Fund. “And it’s always fun to stop and visit them everyday, although I find myself taking far too many coffee / kitty breaks.”

The cafe opened on June 5 of last year, created by two nonprofit rescue organizations, Good Karma Pet Rescue and Lady Luck Animal Rescue. It’s a room in the back of Boomerangs where cats are free to roam around and play with volunteers, visitors, and possible new families.

If you want to help the cat cafe you can consider volunteering, fostering or donating any needed supplies. The cafe is currently collecting Litter Genie refills and Everclean Unscented Clumping Litter.
