Another Wicked Manors has come and gone without incident, said Wilton Manors Police Chief Paul O’Connell. The annual Halloween celebration, which occurs each year on Wilton Drive, has gained a reputation for flamboyant and interesting costumes but fairly boring behavior on the part of attendees.
“It was very well-behaved crowd. We had no incidents to speak of,” said O’Connell. I have nothing but good things to say about it. No news is good news.”
This year, O’Connell estimates between 15,000 and 20,000 people attended the event, which took place on a Monday night.
Past attendance records, when the event is held on a Friday or Saturday night, are between
20,000 and 30,000. But Robert Boo, CEO of The Pride Center, the organization that ran the event, said that Monday was chosen to help give the bars a little bit of a boost on a night when customers usually don’t come out.
