American Family Association's Bryan Fischer focused his latest anti-gay rant on sports. Specifically, the possibility of an openly gay man playing in the National Football Association.

The conservative radio host and pundit argues that an openly gay player in a team would create sexual tension, something which would eventually end up destroying the team in “grenade-like explosion” fashion.

“The NFL's not gonna put up with that kind of nonsense,” Fischer said on his radio show, according to Right Wing Watch.

“They know you get sexual tension in a locker room ... you can't avoid divisive things coming into the locker room.”

And he added, “If an NFL team says we're going to be completely OK with open gays in the locker room...they know that other players are gonna stay away from that team in droves.”

Fischer’s comments come as reaction to Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita, who said most NFL player would be okay with having a gay teammate.

“It’s important for closet gay athletes everywhere, not just at the professional level, but more importantly athletes at the younger level in high school and college, to understand they do have support around them and that they can come out and feel comfortable,” Fujita told 92.3 The Ticket in Cleveland with Bull and Fox.

“And honestly, that is going to help save lives.”

No matter how homophobic Fischer’s remarks may seem, some NFL executives could be in accordance with him. Colorado tight end Nick Kasa said he was asked about his secuality by team scouts.

“(Teams) ask you like, 'Do you have a girlfriend?' 'Are you married?' 'Do you like girls?'” Kasa said in an interview with ESPN Radio in Denver. “Those kinds of things, and you know it was just kind of weird. But they would ask with a straight face, and it's a pretty weird experience altogether.”

The same was allegedly being investigated regarding Manti Te’o after his girlfriend hox debacle, The Atlantic reported.
