Ryan Murphy tackled the apocalypse in the latest installment of his iconic anthology series American Horror Story. But his latest endeavor may prove to be even more of a challenge – politics.
The famed producer producer, who is gay, recently announced the formation of a political organization that will target anti-LGBT candidates in 2020 including Mike Lee of Utah, Susan Collins of Maine, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and Steve King of Iowa.
Murphy, who is best known for his many television shows like Glee, Nip/Tuck and Pose, made the announcement at the TrevorLive Gala in Beverly Hills on Dec. 2.
"I want these hateful and wrong politicians to go and stop polluting our moral and ethical ether,” Murphy said.
He went on to say at the event that the organization would focus on 20 anti-LGBT candidates who are running for office.
“It was the midterms this year that gave me hope," Murphy said. From coast to coast a “Rainbow Wave” swept the nation in November with LGBT politicians winning coast to coast.
