Nightlife: A Wicked Weekend

Halloween is arguably one of the most popular holidays in the LGBT community and when the holiday falls on a weekend, it’s guaranteed to be especially wicked, as we celebrate ghosts, ghouls and all sorts of drag queens that go bump in the night. This is definitely going to be one of the biggest weekends of the year!

While everyone else is putting on costumes this weekend, JetSetMen.com star Angel Rock will be taking his clothes off at popular Fort Lauderdale go-go bar, Boardwalk,  1721 N. Andrews Ave. He’s be doing shows beginning Friday, Oct. 28 through Monday, Oct. 31.

If a wicked physique is your thing this Halloween weekend, head to Johnny’s in Fort Lauderdale for their hot dancers. Show up in costume and enjoy free drinks from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. all weekend, plus there’s no cover. Johnny’s is located at 1116 W. Broward Blvd.

For a little kinky fun this Halloween weekend, the Ramrod, South Florida’s leather/Levi/uniform bar is holding a costume contest of a different flavor on Halloween night. In Miami-Dade, one of the most popular events of the weekend will be Hellrotika, the 17th annual Halloween dance extravaganza to benefit SAVE Dade on Saturday, Oct. 29. This year’s theme is “Seed of the Beast” and DJs Pabel Lima, Doug Jackson and Miik will provide the beat for the event at Jungle Island. Look for special appearances by MTV’s Tyler Duckworth and Rachel Robinson.

Dance palace Discotekka, downtown at 950 NE 2nd Ave. in Miami, features DJ “No” Escape and resident DJ Carlos G for a wild night, “The Awakening.”

In the islands, voodoo is still strong and on Sunday, Oct. 30, Bongo’s Cuban Café, located behind the American Airlines Arena, celebrates a Havana Halloween with $1000 in cash and prizes for the best costumes. DJs Lazaro Leon and Bill Halquist will be playing Latin and dance anthems and look for performances by T.P. Lords, Sasha Lords, Poizon Ivy, Adora and more.
