South Beach Bowling League

Strike! Gay Bowling kicks off in South Beach. Even in trendy South Beach, bowling shoes can make a statement. Tonight, the popular gay bowling league, sponsored by Lucky Strike Lanes, the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and Edison Farrow’s SoBe Social Club, kicks off a fourth season. The league will compete for 10 weeks beginning Monday, Feb. 22, with 8 to 12 four-person teams. In order to compete, bowlers must pre-pay $19 per week, which includes two games, shoe rental and taxes. According to Lucky Strike General Manager Diego Perez, there is still room in the league for more teams and bowlers can just show up at the alley, 1691 Michigan Ave., to sign up, but expect more than just some healthy competition. “It really is like a party,” Perez says. “It’s about being with friends, enjoying the music and drinks….and bowling. DJ Jenni Fox will be providing the music. It’s not too serious. If you win, you’re happy and if you lose, you’re happy.” For more information or to sign your team up, contact Perez at 305-532-0307 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
