More Gay Pride on The Drive

We had so much fun asking the Pride Questions in person and via Facebook.com that we decided to run 5 each week out of the 20 best that we collected! If you were interviewed but haven’t seen yourself in keep looking in upcoming editions. Thanks for your patience and your pride!

1) Name: Olivia

2) Age: 42

3) Occupation: Tax Auditor, Band Geek

4) How do you identify? Lesbian

5) Where are you from? New York

6) How do Pride Celebrations there differ from Pride here, in South Florida? The only problem is many of the people there are protesters, that leads to shouting matches. I’m half French, and experienced Pride in France one year. It’s amazing how different it is. I guess the French are always looking for a reason to party! In South Florida there seems to be less camaraderie.

7) What does Pride mean to you? As a participant in the South Florida Pride Marching Band I love the celebration of Pride! I have found that people get very enthusiastic when we come around and that we are a driving force in the parade to get people involved.
