Yet another exhibit of photographs by a famous Hollywood photographer comes to South Florida, this time a collection of photos of Marilyn Monroe taken by the fashion photographer Bruno Bernard, known internationally as “Bernard of Hollywood.”
The exhibit opens Wednesday, Sept. 12 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 30 at Naomi Wilzig’s World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM), 1205 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach.
Best known for having “discovered” Monroe after they met in 1946, Bernard invited her to a photo shoot and the enduring professional relationship was to transform the then-unknown Norma Jean into the iconic sex symbol Marilyn Monroe.
For the first time in a museum, the exhibit at WEAM follows the evolution of Monroe’s career through a collection of 27 photos, three of which will remain in the museum’s permanent collection.
WEAM is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight. Admission is $15 and no one under 18 will be admitted to the museum. For more information, call 305-532-9336 or go to www.WEAM.com.
