State Senator: "All Utahn's should be free to marry the person they love."
Salt Lake City (KUTV) -- The openly gay Utah State Senator Jim Dabakis wed his longtime partner Stephen Justeson in a public ceremony at the Salt Lake County Building Friday afternoon.
The ceremony was officiated by Salt Lake Mayor Ralph Becker.
After the ceremony he told reporters, "there should not be discrimination. That you have religious marriage and you have civil marriage. And all Utahn's should be free to marry the person they love."
Dabakis represents the state's 2nd senate district and also serves as chairman of the Utah Democratic Party.
