It was reported last week that an unaired Taco Bell ad featuring a same-sex couple went viral after it leaked online earlier this month. But in a new statement to EDGE, Taco Bell officials say they were not behind the inclusive ad, though they pretty impressed.
"We didn't create this ad, but we can see the people who did share the same Live Mas passion for our brand-and our breakfast-as we do," wrote Ashley Sioson of Taco Bell, in an email to EDGE. "Although we cannot condone unauthorized use of our intellectual property, we are impressed with their work and would be open to meeting with them."
The 30-second "commercial" currently has nearly 131,000 views but left many people wondering if the clip was real since there was little information about it but the video was of high quality.
In the ad, the two men hit up a Taco Bell for a "breakfast pitstop" before one of them stops and asks, "I wonder what else we could fit in before work."
The couple find buried treasure, ride jet skis, snuggle together during a romantic picnic and then get married.
