On Aug. 2 between the hours of 8:25 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., two men attempted to break into a safe at the Wilton Manors 7-Eleven located on the corner of Andrews Avenue and Oakland Park Boulevard.

According to the Wilton Manors Police Department, “one of the suspects was observed on a closed circuit television walking through the store and into an employees only area of the business. The suspect caused approximately $6,000 worth of damage to a locked and secured safe while in the employees only area. This suspect is a black male, approximately 45 to 55 years of age, approximately 5’10” to 6’02” in height, and approximately 260 to 300 pounds, wearing what appears to be a dark green button up shirt, light colored shorts, sandals and a camouflage baseball cap.”

“The other suspect acted as a “look-out” and deterrent while both suspects were inside the business. This suspect is also observed on closed circuit television and appears to be a heavy-set black male or female wearing a white shirt, long blue jean pants, sneakers and a dark colored baseball cap. It appears the suspects left the business in possibly a silver or white Nissan Juke after they were unable to gain access inside the safe.”

Police officials are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects from the photos or video to contact the Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477(TIPS) or submit an anonymous tip online at browardcrimestoppers.org. The video can be located at: https://youtu.be/Wa6cQXqpDZ4
