The Palm Beach County Human Rights Council raised almost $20,000 in profits at its annual Summer Soiree two weeks ago.
"This year's Summer Soiree was a smashing success. We had a record number of underwriters and sold close to 250 tickets,” said Rand Hoch, president of the PBCHRC. “There were more elected officials and candidates than ever before. Even candidates who were not endorsed by PBCHRC Voters Alliance this year joined us in celebrating the progress that is continuing to be made for the Palm Beach LGBTQ community."
The annual event took place August 4 at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach.
“Special thanks go out to Sandy James Fine Food and Productions, the National Croquet Club and Sutka Visual Design for making the evening magically,” Hoch said.
PBCHRC’s next major event will be the Winter Fete on January 19, “where we will be honoring West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, who has probably been, without exaggeration, the most pro-active mayor on LGBTQ issues in any city in the USA,” Hoch said.
