The Broward Theater for Performing Arts and the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will present the It Gets Better Project. The show uses music to enlighten and educate people about the struggles of LGBT youth.

The performances will be presented in tandem with a weeklong series of community outreach activities to strengthen local LGBT support networks. In addition to its ongoing live performance by the It Gets Better cast of professional artists, the dynamic musical includes recorded student material - poems, songs, skits and more.

The Broward performance is a partnership that is funded by the Community Foundation of Broward, with involvement from the Slow Burn Theatre Co. “It is a great opportunity for the community,” said Michael MendilloManaging DirectorSlow Burn Theatre Co.

The Palm Beach County performance is a first-time collaboration with Compass Community Center, Stonewall National Museum & Archives, and KOP Mentoring Network, and the Kravis Center.

It is important that LGBTQ identifying youth know that the community supports them,” said Amanda Canete, the Compass Youth Services Director, in a statement. “Our kids are excited to work with this renowned group of performers, and we are looking forward to them learning more about themselves and their role in the world as they grow and mature.”

“We are proud to be working in collaboration with Compass Community Center on the It Gets Better Project and the impact it will bring to the LGBTQ community,” said Kravis Center Senior Director of Programing Lee Bell.
